چکیده
The significance of latent heat thermal energy storage is more substantial when compared to sensible due its higher capability. In this paper, transfer enhancement techniques for melting (charging) and solidification (discharging) by using external fins internal–external a phase change material (PCM) in duplex triplex tube exchangers (DTHX TTHX) are investigated numerically. A two-dimensional analysis carried out ANSYS Fluent various configurations. Moreover, the effect different critical parameters, number fins, fin length, thickness, exchanger evaluated terms total time complete PCM. Four cases investigated; 1 2 based upon DTHX while 3 4 TTHXs. By considering case as reference case, it found that reduce 48.76% 90.12%, respectively. Case achieves shortest PCM, decreased 92%. Solidification behaviour all four also investigated. novel configurations increase (doubled) supply fluid (HTF) at same significantly enhance melting/solidification characteristics without disrupting convectional currents during Tube materials with thermophysical properties rate improved high diffusivity material. length thickness.

Experimental Investigation of Sinusoidal Tube in Triplex-Tube Heat Exchanger during Charging and Discharging Processes Using Phase Change Materials
In this experiment effect of two full and half width sinusoidal inner tubes in triplex-tube heat exchanger with phase change material (PCM) was investigated. Length and diameter of the tubes have been chosen such that the area of each tube to be the same. Charging and discharging processes were carried out by inner tube, outer tube and both. Results indicated, PCM melting and solidification tim...

Use of a phase change material (PCM)-based heat sink in transient thermal management of plastic quad flat package (QFP) electronic devices was investigated experimentally and numerically. Results show that increased power inputs enhance the melting rate as well as the thermal performance of the PCM-based heat sinks until the PCM is fully melted. A three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics ...
متن کاملA numerical investigation of γ-Al2O3-water nanofluids heat transfer and pressure drop in a shell and tube heat exchanger
The effect of γ-Al2O3 nanoparticles on heat transfer rate, baffle spacing and pressure drop in the shell side of small shell and tube heat exchangers was investigated numerically under turbulent regime. γ-Al2O3-water nanofluids and pure water were used in the shell side and the tube side of heat exchangers, respectively. Since the properties of γ-Al2O3-water nanofluids were variable, they were ...
